Summary: This book focuses on the life and activism of Dolores Huerta, who was both a labor reformist and a civil rights activist. Dolores worked as a teacher and noticed that her students were very impoverished. In 1998, Dolores was named “Woman of the Year” by Ms. magazine, and has since gone on to create the Dolores Huerta Foundation, which seeks to train activists who are concerned about labor standards and practices.
